A: Baby dedication is an act of worship wherein parents give their children back to God. In the Bible,
they are occur in the Old and New Testaments as a show of thanksgiving, dependence, trust, and commitment.
In Samuel 1:24-28, Hannah brought her son Samuel to Eli the priest to dedicate Him to the Lord. In Luke 2:22-24,
Mary and Joseph brought baby Jesus to be dedicated in the temple.
SBC believes that salvation is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and is not granted to a baby through dedication. Through dedication,
parents commit to raising their children in godly home environment with the desire that one day they will receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
A: Baby dedications are normally held on the fourth Sunday of each month during our 10am worship experience.
Dedications are held in the main sanctuary located at 740 W. Locust Street, York, PA.
